Requirements

This year we launched the brand new site for Douglas Home & Co. The website design, built on WordPress, was to replace an outdated existing site on Webflow CMS which was no longer serving the clients needs. The brief was to create a fresh new design that better represented the brand of the accountancy and compliance firm which is based in Scotland. While showcasing a diverse range of services available to their clients.

The key objectives of the project were to have a user friendly, modern site that would serve them well for future growth of the company. While utilising a platform that could easily be updated by the business themselves going forward. Therefore proving the client with greater independence and freedom over how the content was updated on their site.

As always we opted to build on WordPress, our CMS platform of choice. As it’s diverse capabilities suited the needs of the client while providing a user friendly interface. The new website is much cleaner and streamlined. Directing the user to where they need to be with ease and as few clicks as possible. Opting for relevant call to actions to be used throughout to further improve the user experience.

The website includes a simplified navigation structure from the existing site and is fully GDPR compliant. A blog area is included within the design allowing for a specific area for the client to regularly update with company news. The website is mobile friendly to allow for seamless viewing across all devices including mobile and tablet.

The site harnesses the use of white space well to allow the content to take focus throughout. Meanwhile a full width page layout is utilised ensuring that maximum amounts of content appear on the page without endless unnecessary scrolling. Other features of the site include a blog, contact form, Google map, social media integration, team portfolios, user resources and secure client area.
